Installing the platform to a personal computer

When the platform is installed to a computer where it has not yet been installed, the following directories are created:

  • \Program Files\1cv8. Root installation directory
  • \Program Files\1cv8\common. Shared binary files directory. This directory will store the 1cestart.exe program. The directory will also store the programs that are not directly related to the platform version (HASP driver installer and uninstaller)
  • \Program Files\1cv8\<number of the installed platform version>. The directory where the platform version will be installed. For example, \Program Files\1cv8\8.3.3.721. It contains subdirectories (readme, bin, and AddDoc). The bin directory contains all the platform files, including 1cv8s.exe.
  • The Start button will provide access to a menu containing:
    • The 1C:Enterprise menu item that starts the platform. It runs \Program Files\1cv8\common\1cestart.exe.
    • The Install security key driver and Uninstall security key driver menu items.
    • The More submenu. This submenu will contain:
      • Another submenu for the installed platform version, for example: 8.3.3.721. This submenu, in turn, will contain:
        • All the standard items (1C:Enterprise (thick client), 1C:Enterprise 8 (thin client), Designer, ReadMe - Additional information, 1C:Enterprise Server, 1C:Enterprise 7.7 IB Converter, and so on.
  • A COM connector for thick and thin clients is registered.
  • The 1C:Enterprise server service is created (if server installation is selected).
  • If the launcher configuration file is not available, it is created.
  • The path to the root installation directory is added to the launcher configuration file (if it is not specified there yet).

When the platform is installed on a computer that already has any 1C:Enterprise 8.3 version installed, you are not prompted to select between updating the infobase and installing the new version. The new version is always installed.

  • A directory for the new 1C:Enteprise version is created. For example, \Program Files\1cv8\Versions\8.3.3. All files that belong to the new version will be installed to this directory.
  • The \Program Files\1cv8\common directory will contain the launcher files and the files required for HASP management.
  • A submenu for the new version is added to the menu.
  • The server service is reinstalled.
  • The path to the root installation directory is added to the launcher configuration file (if it is not specified there yet).

When a single 1C:Enterprise version is installed and then uninstalled, everything is removed (menu, files, directories (provided they are empty), and services, and the COM connector is unregistered).

When multiple platform versions are installed and one of them is being uninstalled:

  • The directory of the version being uninstalled is removed.
  • The menu items of the version being uninstalled are removed.
  • The 1C:Enterprise server service of the version being uninstalled is removed.
  • The COM connector is unregistered if it was connected to this version.
