Search for Topic in the Table of Contents

If you know the topic's title or the beginning of the title, you can use the table of contents window to search for the topic.

To view the help contents, choose Help – Help Contents from the menu or click the Contents button in the Help window.

For convenient viewing, you can expand or collapse the tree or individual branches.

To expand a tree branch, click the node. You can also use the keyboard.

icon in the branch node indicates that this branch can be expanded. To do this, click . The next level of the branch will be opened for viewing, and the icon will change to . To collapse the branch, click .

By expanding tree branches sequentially, you can browse to the required topic.

Select branch name and press * key on the right numeric keypad to open the entire node (not only the current branch, but also all the subbranches). However, you cannot completely collapse the tree by pressing * key again. You have to collapse each branch separately.

To expand one level of the branch, press + key on the right numeric keypad; to collapse it, use - key.

To view a selected topic, double-click its title or press Enter.

You can also navigate to a topic by simply typing its name. The topic title with the first characters matching those being typed will be highlighted.

Tip. Type the topic title without pauses, because the system considers a pause as the end of the current entry and beginning of the next search.

Caution: only those topics that are visible in the topic tree will be searched.
