Connecting to external data sources

The external data source connection form is opened in the external data source cube wizard when you select the Select from external data source cube list method and then proceed to the next step.

In the Connection string field, specify the external data source connection string. You can generate the connection string using the connection string wizard.

To facilitate database connection procedure, you can specify the database type in the DMBS type box.

If the tumbler is set to Use operating system authentication, user authentication in the external data source is performed using operating system authentication.

If the operating system authentication is not available for the user, set the tumbler to Use standard authentication.

In the User name field, specify the user name for accessing the external data source.

In the Password field, enter the password.
