Editing values of local variables and properties

You can edit the values of local variables (variables belonging to procedures and functions at the current call stack level) and object properties during the debugging.

You can set values of the following types interactively, simply by editing them in the appropriate cells: Number, String, Date, Boolean, and Undefined. To change a value type, clear the value first.

To set values of other types, in the Immediate window or in the Local variables list, run the Set expression as a value command.

You can use a local variable name (in the Local variables window) or a variable expression (in the Immediate window) as an expression, provided that it is available at the current script execution point.

Note the following:

  • Debug step commands are not available until the expression evaluation is finished.
  • Editing values of local variables or properties can alter the execution of configuration algorithms.
