Configuration Support

If a configuration is under support contract, then it has a special status which implies that there is a rule for every configuration object prohibiting changes. When a configuration is initially set up it is automatically set to full support mode. A supported configuration is covered by an update plan.

When new configuration versions are released, their developers build configuration update files.

You can modify the Support mode for objects provided that you first cancel full support. The ability to set user rules depends on rules stipulated by the vendor, and on current locks in the user configuration.

For a supported configuration features are available for comparison with the distributed one, for comparing a new distribution with an earlier one, and for comparing the configuration's current state with its initial one.

To update the database configuration, click Configuration — Support — Refresh Configuration and then select an update source. The manner in which updates occur depends on the terms of the support. If the configuration is under support contract then updates are automatic. Otherwise a comparison is performed, objects requiring an update to become current are selected, and then the configuration update is performed.
