External data source cube dimension table wizard

The wizard is intended for creating the dimension table structure.

If you select the Manually creation method, clicking Finish creates a table that does not yet have fields. You can create the fields and add the table description in the external data source cube dimension table editor.

If you select the Select from the list of external data source cube dimension tables creation method, the table structure creation will consist of several steps. This requires access to the external data source.

On the next step (click Next >), the connection form is opened. In this form, you can connect to the external data source.

Once you establish the connection, you will see the list of external data source cube dimension tables.

In the list, in the Name in the data source column, select the check boxes for the tables and  fields that you want included in the description of the external data source cube dimension table.

If any dimension tables were previously created for this data source, the check boxes next to them are already selected. To exclude tables or fields, clear the check boxes next to them.

In the Name in the configuration column, you can specify the table or field name that will be used for registering it in the configuration.

In the Type column, specify the data type.

In the Presentation field column, select the check boxes for the fields that are presentation fields.

In the Comment column, you can enter a comment for the table or field.

If you select the Remove objects that are not available in the external data source from the configuration check box, once you complete the wizard, the tables and fields that are absent from the external data source (for example, those that were deleted from the external data source) will be removed from the configuration.

All changes are marked with bold font.

To complete the wizard, click Finish. The tables and fields will be added (or removed) to or from the external data source cube dimension table description. To edit table and field descriptions, use the external data source cube dimension table editor window.

If references to a table are found and the table is not selected for including into the configuration, its name is displayed in red.
