Reducing Event Log Size

The event log can accumulate a significant number of records after a time.

To reduce event log size, press the Reduce Size button in the log setup dialog.

All records before the date specified in the Delete Events Older Than field will be deleted.

If you want to save the deleted records, check the Write Deleted Events to File option and enter a file name for saving.

If you want to reduce log size periodically at that having a possibility to view deleted log events, select the checkbox Retain Dividing Log Saves by Periods and Merging with Previously Saved Log.

To retain dividing by periods when launching the Designer in command mode, you also can use the -KeepSplitting parameter of the /ReduceEventLogSize batch mode command line key.

To view the archived event log records, select File - Open menu item and specify the Event Log (*.elf) file type in standard file selection dialog. Select required archive file and click Open.
