Property palette

The property palette is a dialog box that lists properties of configuration objects, documents, or their parts (such as a spreadsheet cell or an HTML document link). The list of properties depends on the type of object being edited.

The property palette lists object properties grouped by category. The number of categories and the set of properties in each category depend on the object type.

The command bar of the property palette contains five buttons. The first three buttons are intended for managing the property list view:

  • sort alphabetically;
  • sort by category;
  • show only important properties.

When you start editing a property, the Save and Cancel Editing buttons become available.

To select how categories are displayed (provided that sorting by category is applied), right-click in any empty area of the property palette window and then click Tabs or List.

Each property in the palette has a name and a detailed description. To show or hide descriptions, right-click in any empty area of the property palette window and then click Comment.

The method of entering a property value in the palette depends on the property type.

The property palette might contain links that open various forms related to the object, such as its help topic, help topics of its forms or form module procedures. These links are underlined, like in the following example: Open.

For properties that can be read or changed using 1C:Enterprise script, you can switch to the property description in the Syntax Assistant by right-clicking the property and then clicking Help. This menu item is not available if the property cannot be accessed from 1C:Enterprise script.

You can open the More window for a property by right-clicking it and then clicking More.

Quick search for properties by multiple substrings separated by spaces is available. Enter the substrings in the search field at the top of the property palette. The search by property name is started once you enter two characters that are not spaces.

When the quick search is in effect, the property palette only shows properties that match the search criteria, with matching property name parts displayed in red.

To clear the search string, click the Clear button or press Esc.

You can switch to the search field by pressing Ctrl+Alt+I.
