Working with tasks

Tasks in the 1C:Enterprise 8 allow you to keep a record of jobs sorted by performer, and reflect the progress of business processes through the flowchart. In addition to business processes, tasks can be created by other InfoBase objects or directly by users.
When a business process reaches any route point where actions of a specific performer are defined, a task is formed (or several tasks for a group action). After the performer marks the task as completed, the business process automatically passes to the next route point, in accordance with the flowchart. Thus, tasks are the driving force for business processes.
The general principles for working with the tasks are similar to working with other objects (for example, documents and catalogs), therefore we will consider only specific features.

Opening the Task List

A specific task list may be opened using main menu commands, toolbar buttons or opened tasks.

Also, selecting Operations — Tasks... allows you to open the list of tasks existing in the configuration.

Select the task from this list using mouse or keyboard, and press OK to open selected list.

Adding a New Task

Tasks may be added in various ways.

To add a new task from the task list, select Actions — Add.

Depending on the user interface configuration, tasks can be added without opening the list. Specify the name of the desired task type in the task type list and click OK. Then the form of a new task will be displayed for you to populate its attributes.

The user interface can include menu commands or toolbar buttons enabling you to immediately start adding tasks, without opening the list they are displayed in.

After the attributes are filled in, click OK to save the task and close the form.

Opening Tasks

To view or modify a task, first open the corresponding task list. Search tools allows you to find a task quickly in the list.

You can open a task using one of the following methods:

  • select "Actions — Edit".
  • Place the mouse pointer in the appropriate line and press Enter.
  • Double-click anywhere in the line containing the desired task.
Copying Tasks

You can add a new task to the task list by copying data from an existing task. To do this, place the cursor in the line containing the task you want to copy, and select" Actions — Copy".

Deleting Tasks (Marking and Unmarking for Deletion)

There are two deletion methods: immediate deletion and marking for deletion. The particular user's rights determine the availability of the methods.

Marking for deletion permits you to indicate that the tasks should be deleted; it changes the task icon (contain strikethrough), while the data continues to be displayed.

To set a task deletion mark, place the mouse pointer in the appropriate line of the list and select Actions — Set Deletion Mark. Or right-click in the line with the task and select corresponding command from the context menu.

To clear a deletion mark from a task, place the cursor in the line containing the previously marked item and select " Actions — Unmark for Deletion

Actual deletion of objects (including tasks) is done when " Operations - Delete Marked Objects" command is selected, if this operation is available to this user.

Executing the Task

To execute a task, first open the corresponding task list. Search tools allows you to find a task quickly in the list.

You can execute a task using one of the following methods:

  • In the list, select Mark Task as Complete and Save from the menu.
  • Open the task, and select Mark Task as Complete and Save from the menu in the task form.
Task List Window

Task list may be opened using navigation panel and actions panel, as well as by the system when a subsystem is selected in the sections panel (for details, see the configuration description).

Adding a New Task

To add a new task, use the New command in the task list, or the corresponding command in the actions panel (for details, see the configuration description).

Editing Task Attributes

The appearance of the task form, its properties, and the behavior of its controls are determined when the task configuration is set, and in general can vary widely.

Tasks are edited using general form handling techniques. These techniques are described in detail in the help topic General Information about Forms.

If required by the configuration, the task form may contain tabs. In that case, all editable attributes are grouped into various "pages," and you can switch from one to another by clicking the tab with the mouse.

After the attributes have been entered, save the task by selecting Completed – Close command. This command marks the task as completed and closes it.

The Save object command saves the task without posting and closing the form.

The Completed command sets the completion mark for the task.

Copying Tasks

You can add a new task by copying an existing task. To do this, select the task you want to copy in the list, and select Copy command or press F9.

Deleting Tasks (Marking and Unmarking for Deletion)

There are two delete modes: immediate deletion and marking for deletion. The particular user's rights determine the availability of the modes.

Task deletion (immediate deletion and setting/unsetting deletion mark) is performed from the list.

To mark or unmark for deletion, select one or more tasks in the list and select Mark/Unmark for Deletion command. You may also press the Del key.

To delete immediately, use the Delete command or press Shift + Del.

Tasks marked for deletion are shown with icons containing strikethrough.

Executing the Task

To mark the task as completed, open it and select Completed – Close or Completed command (for details, see the configuration description).
