Flowchart Editor

The editor is used for editing flowchart documents (in Designer and 1C:Enterprise mode) and business process route map documents (in Designer mode).

The editor is used to edit flowchart documents.

The editor is used to view Flowchart documents.

To create a new document, you can use the following:

  • File - New - Flowchart menu item;

  • Ctrl+N keyboard shortcut.

To open an existing document, use one of the following options:

  • File - Open menu item;

  • Ctrl+O keyboard shortcut;
  • drag the file from Windows Explorer to 1C:Enterprise workspace.

To open the route map editor, use the Route Map button on the Other tab in the business process editing window.

For conciseness, we will use Flowchart as a general term instead of both "Flowchart" and "business process route map" in this topic. When we are describing specific features of a route map, we will state that clearly.

Flowchart Settings

Set the properties of a flowchart in the property palette.

You can specify the background color, whether to align route points to the grid, the horizontal and vertical grid spacing, and the grid line style.

Use the "Flowchart - Scale" menu command to select one of the predefinedscales for viewing and editing convenience.

The menu command Flowchart - Page View Mode controls the display of printed page borders in the flowchart editor window.

Placement of Flowchart Elements or Route Points and Decorations

To insert chart elements or decorations into a chart, select Flowchart - Insert Elements.

Choose the required element from the list. The mouse cursor turns to a crosshairs.

Move it to the part of the map where you want to place the chosen element.

Left-click. The element appears on the chart. The element's dimensions will be asigned by default and in accordance with the grid settings.

Each element on the flowchart is represented as an assemblage of parts: the element itself (in the form of a polygon), entry and exit points (optional), and connecting lines (optional).

You can move the elements around on the flowchart, and the connecting lines will be redrawn automatically. Perform moves with the mouse or the cursor control keys.

Resize elements in the standard MS Windows manner.

Using the Flowchart menu commands, you can set alignment, identical sizes, and horizontal and vertical distribution for a group of selected elements.

If the elements overlap, you can use the Flowchart - Order menu commands to set the z- order.

To change the tab order of chart elements, use the Flowchart - Tab Order menu command with the Tab and Shift + Tab keys.

Linking Flowchart Elements

You can link separate flowchart elements or route points using connecting lines.

You can select each connecting line. To do so, hover the mouse pointer over the line. It will turn into a cross with arrows. Left-click. The connecting line is selected. Square handles appear at the ends of the line.

Mouse over a free (unconnected) handle. It will turn into a cross. With the left mouse button, drag the handle to the entry point of the desired element.

"A decorative line is designed to connect any flowchart elements with each other. A flowchart can contain any number of decorative lines.

Edit Element Properties

Set the properties of a flowchart elements in the property palette.

Print

To print a flowchart, open the File - Print menu item. You can perform page setup before printing, if required.

Checking Route Map

A route map is a special type of flowchart .

Use the Route Map - Check menu command to verify the created chart.

If the check discovers:

  • “dangling” connecting lines (lines that don't enter anything);
  • points not entered by any connecting lines (except entry points);
  • loops;
  • lack of handlers for decision and option selection events;
  • parallel branches (from branch point to merger point) that enter the same points (other than merger points).

an appropriate message is displayed in the message window.
