Operations with the configuration are executed in the Configuration window.

Opening the Configuration
To open a configuration:

select Configuration — Open Configuration menu item.

To expand the work area of the main program window, the Configuration window can be temporarily closed or a required status can be set for the window (for example, Docked).

Saving the Configuration
To save the configuration while editing (without closing the configuration session):
select Configuration — Save Configuration.

When saving, the program analyzes changes to the configuration structure. If any objects have been added, deleted, or edited, a dialog box is displayed showing a list of changes for confirmation. To confirm the Save operation, click the Accept button, otherwise use the Reject button to cancel saving. In either case, the configuration remains open, and you can continue working.

Saving the Configuration to a File
To save a configuration to a file (to backup, move, compare, etc.):
select Configuration — Save Configuration to File.
Closing the Configuration

You can stop working with a configuration either by ending your session with the 1C:Enterprise or by closing the configuration.

To close a configuration:
select Configuration — Close Configuration.

If the configuration has been changed, changes are saved.

Restore Configuration from File

To completely replace the current configuration with a configuration saved in a file, select "Configuration – Restore Configuration from File".

Comparing and Merging Configurations

To compare and merge configuration use appropriate mode. Only the configurations that have been saved to a file can be compared.

To perform configuration comparison and merging:
select Configuration — Compare and Merge with Configuration from File menu item.
Configuration Support

Configurations can be supported. When new configuration versions are released, their developers build configuration update files.

Configuration Repository

For shared development it is possible to create a Configuration repository. Some objects are assigned to every developer and when such objects are ready, they are stored in the repository for subsequent shared use in configuration development.
