Starting 1C:Enterprise. Startup options

We recommend that you run 1C:Enterprise using the launcher 1cestart.exe. To run the launcher, on the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, point to 1C:Enterprise 8, and click 1C:Enterprise.

If 1C:Enterprise 8 system is installed in a network environment for simultaneous use by multiple users, the network administrator can place the launcher 1cestart.exe to a dedicated network directory available to all these users.

On of 1cestart.exe advantages is the option to start an infobase with the required platform version, as well as the option to install the required version automatically.
If no platform version suitable for a specific infobase is found (or a distribution kit of a new version is found), the launcher searches for the distribution kit of the required platform version and installs this version. After the installation, it opens the list of infobases.

The launcher opens the list of infobases that can be edited by the current user (this includes adding, renaming, and removing infobases, and so on). Users can also specify startup options for each infobase (a specific platform version, run mode, and so on).
For details on infobase list setup, see 1C:Enterprise 8. Administrator Guide.

To run a specific 1C:Enterprise 8 version, in the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, point to 1C:Enterprise 8, point to Advanced, point to the group whose name matches the required version number, and then click the item you want to run (1C:Enterprise in a specific client mode, or Designer). Then the launcher opens the list of infobases.
You can perform similar actions using the interactive launcher 1Cv8s.exe.

For a detailed description of 1C:Enterprise client installation, start, and update, see the following section.

Universal client installation, start, and update mechanism

This feature is intended to automate 1C:Enterprise installation and updates on end-user computers. It also ensures that infobases that require different 1C:Enterprise versions are listed in a single startup window.

A computer can have multiple platform versions installed simultaneously. The main purpose of the launcher is to start an interactive launcher for a specific platform version. The interactive launcher opens the infobase list and starts the client application required for the selected infobase.

  Launcher: 1CEStart.exe

 Interactive launcher: 1Cv8s.exe

 Client application

You can specify command-line options for the launcher. Usage of these options automates the launching process. For example, you can specify the infobase right in the command line. In this case the user is not prompted to select an infobase from the list.

1cestart.exe is the main launcher; it starts the infobase specified in the command line in any client mode or in Designer mode. At startup, the launcher analyzes which platform version should be started, checks whether this version is installed, installs it if necessary, and then starts the infobase with the required platform version. If the infobase is not specified, it starts 1cv8s.exe from the latest installed version.
By default, this file is located in C:\Program Files\1cv8\common. When 1C:Enterprise 8 is installed, the item that runs this file is automatically added to the Windows Start menu.

The launcher uses two configuration files:

  • 1CEStart.cfg for a launcher located on a user computer.
  • 1CESCmn.cfg for a launcher located in a network directory.

These configuration files describe the list of platform components that are installed, the platform versions that are started by default, and other parameters.

1cv8s.exe displays the infobase list to a user and allows editing the infobase list. This includes adding a new infobase, adding an existing infobase to the list, removing an infobase from the list, editing infobase parameters in the list, editing the position of an infobase in the list, and so on. It can start any client type or Designer.

You can run launchers with command-line options.

Starting 1C:Enterprise in thick client mode

In addition to starting 1C:Enterprise from the Windows Start menu, you can also start 1C:Enterprise by running the 1CV8.EXE executable file. To do this, double click on the 1CV8.EXE file in Windows Explorer.

In the command line for the 1CV8.EXE file, you can specify all the necessary options: startup mode, infobase directory name, and so on. The options can contain parameters that provide input data or details. If the command-line options are specified correctly, the 1CV8.EXE file is started in one of the available startup modes: 1C:Enterprise or Designer, depending on the options that you specify. In Designer mode you can perform some infobase maintenance operations using the command-line options of the batch mode.

The batch mode is the mode where 1C:Enterprise performs actions defined by a command-line option and then is closed. These options are referred to as batch mode options. You are only allowed to use a single batch mode option type in each command line.

If an error in command-line options is detected when you run 1CV8.EXE file, or if you do not specify the options, the 1C:Enterprise startup window is displayed at startup. In this window you can select a run mode for the 1CV8.EXE file and an infobase to use. If the infobase directory name is correct while the user parameters are incorrect, an authorization window is displayed.

If the option values include spaces (for example, in the file name or path), enclose the values in quotation marks.

The following is a sample command line to start 1C:Enterprise:

С:\1CV8\BIN\1CV8.EXE ENTERPRISE /FC:\1CV8\DB

This command line indicates that 1C:Enterprise is started in 1C:Enterprise mode, and the infobase is located in C:\1CV8\DB.

Starting 1C:Enterprise in thin client mode

In addition to starting 1C:Enterprise from the Windows Start menu, you can also start 1C:Enterprise by running the 1CV8C.EXE executable file. To do this, double click on the 1CV8C.EXE file in Windows Explorer.

In the command line for the 1CV8C.EXE file, you can specify the infobase directory name and other required options. The options can contain parameters that provide input data or details.

If an error in command-line options is detected when you run 1CV8C.EXE file, or if you do not specify the options, the 1C:Enterprise startup window is displayed at startup. If the infobase directory name is correct while the user parameters are incorrect, an authorization window is displayed.

If the option values include spaces (for example, in the file name or path), enclose the values in quotation marks.

The following is a sample command line to start 1C:Enterprise:

С:\1CV8\BIN\1CV8C.EXE ENTERPRISE /FC:\1CV8\DB

This command line indicates that 1C:Enterprise 8 is started in the thin client mode, and the infobase is located at C:\1CV8\DB.

Starting 1C:Enterprise in web client mode

To start the web client, type the following address in the web browser address bar:
     http://host
where host is the infobase site address.

The web client does not support command-line options that are available for thick and thin clients. The web client has startup options of its own. These options are specified in the web browser address bar after the "?" character and are separated by &.

URL syntax: http://host?OptionName1=OptionValue1&OptionName2=OptionValue2

Example: http://localhost/demo?C=userParameter

The web client runs in a web browser. The following browsers are supported:

  • Mozilla Firefox version 17 or later for Windows and Linux
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 8.0 or later
  • Google Chrome versions 4.0-8.0 for Windows
  • Safari 4.0.5 or later for Mac OS X

The interface language can be specified as follows (sorted by priority from low to high):

  • In the preferred interface language settings of the web browser.
  • In the command line (the "L" option).

1C:Enterprise selects the web browser interface language by performing the following actions in the listed order:

  • During the request to the resource where the infobase is located (for example, http://localhost/demo), the interface language is selected as follows:
    • If the "L" option is included in the request, the value of this option is analyzed. If the language is not specified, preferred languages defined in the web browser are analyzed.
    • If the option is not included in the request, preferred languages defined in the web browser are analyzed.
  • The preferred language is selected from the set of languages specified during 1C:Enterprise installation for the web server extension modules:
    • If an exact match is not found (for example, the option specifies en_US as a language), the language name is truncated and a new search is performed (the search for "en" in this example).
    • If a matching language is not found, the default English (en) language is used.
  • The selected language is added to the base URL of the application (in the example the result is http://localhost/demo/en) and the web browser is automatically redirected to this new URL.
Starting a web client with navigation to a link

You can obtain a link in the Get link window. It must be an external link.

Example of an external link: http://host/app/en/#e1cib/app/DataProcessor.ActiveUsersList

When you enter the link in the browser address bar, the application is started and the form containing the list of active users is opened.

Note.
In Microsoft Internet Explorer, the application is not started with simultaneous navigation to a link if the link is related to the application loaded in the current browser window. We recommend that you enter the link in the address bar of a new empty browser window.
