Administrative tools

The basic administrative tools of 1C:Enterprise system are implemented as a part of the Designer. However, there is a number of mechanisms and utilities that are not included in the Designer, although they are also related to the 1C:Enterprise system administration. We will list the most important mechanisms and tools included in the administrative tools:

Authentication mechanisms
User list

When connecting another user to the application solution, the authentication mechanism lets you to know which of the users listed in the user list is connecting to the application solution. This information is used to grant the access to specific information , etc.

Allows describing the permissions of different system users for access to specific information .

Active users
Jobs mechanisms

A list of active users allows obtaining information about which information base user is working with it at the moment.

The jobs mechanism allows organizing asynchronous procedure execution of general modules and automatic procedure execution of general modules on schedule.

Lists of common information bases and shortcuts
Event log

The lists of common information bases and shortcuts allow significantly simplifying the administration of the systems with a large number of users.

Event log contains information about which events took place in the information base at a certain time or which actions where performed by one or another user.

Technical journal
Information base dumping and restoring

Technical journal is intended to analyze the technical problems of system operation and to analyze the abnormal termination of any 1C:Enterprise 8 system applications launched on this computer.

The system allows dumping the current information base in file on disk and restoring the information base from file.

Information base verify and repair

Information base parameters

Different failures (power-off, "hangs" of computers, etc.) that occur during the work or users with the information base can lead to its incorrect state. To diagnose and correct the error state of information bases, a special procedure for verifying and repair is used.

1C:Enterprise 8 has an ability to specify the information base parameters: waiting time of information base lock, minimal length of user password and complex password.

Information base regional settings
Configuration update

Setting up the information base regional settings allows managing the format to display date, time, numbers and Boolean constants in the application solution.

During operation of application solution, the situations may occur that require making the changes in the application solution. For example, a new application solution version can be released or it will be need just to add a new functionality in the existing application solution. In this case, the information base administrator can update application solution configuration.

File database restore utility

To monitor 1C:Enterprise 8 servers, create and delete the information bases, it is possible to use both Windows administrative utility and cross-platform utilities.

For standalone check and repair of database (without running the Designer), a special utility is used included in the distribution package.

Operation variants

Along with 1C:Enterprise launch by selecting the corresponding widget from menu «Start — Programs», it is possible to launch the executable file of client application with specification of necessary parameters in the startup command line.

1C:Enterprise 8 provides the operation in two variants that allow completely identically working with application solution both for one user and for a large work group.
