Creation of distribution packages, - distributives of application solutions, - is one of the functions implemented by the 1C:Enterprise 8 Designer. The developer has an opportunity, without need of special programs from other manufacturers, to create the distribution package – a set of files intended to be installed on the user computer.

The distribution package includes an installer setup.exe and a set of files compressed in archive. To install the application solution, it is enough for the user to launch on his computer the installer included in the distribution package and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. The installer has a standard interface and helps the user to install all the components of application solution:

Creating the distribution package description

The developer may create the distribution package description based on which he may create further the required distribution packages. When creating the distribution package description, the supplemental information about the product is indicated as well as the composition of files that can be included in the distribution package:

In addition to the configuration file and the information base file, there is an opportunity to include in the distribution package the additional files required for the application solution operation.

Editing distribution description

The Designer allows editing the existing descriptions of distribution packages. To do this, the window of distribution description editing is used:

The main elements of distribution packages are the patterns of configurations that contain a set of files. These files can be both the configuration files and the arbitrary files.

In the distribution description editing window you can add the new and delete the unnecessary files that are a part of configuration pattern and create several distribution versions that include a various set of files:

Besides, the developer has an opportunity to define the basic directories that can be used for setting the distribution files when transferring between different computers and to set the necessary languages for displaying the localized names of template items.

Along with this, the developer may create only the package of distribution files. These files will not be compressed in archive and will not contain the installer.

Autorun application

On the disk of information-technological support there is a separate program Autorun which, along with the mechanism for creating the distribution packages, allows creating the distributives of mass-production solutions.

Autorun application can be used as a customizable user shell when creating CD or DVD-ROM:

Both the application settings and user interface are extremely simplified – an application is a dialog divided into the following logical parts:

• title;
• background;
• list of launched programs;
• description of launched programs;
• exit button.

All the dialog parts are customizable and localizable. To localize the dialog, a list of languages and the localized parts of dialog from this list that correspond to each language are used. If in the language list there is more than one language, then the dialog has an additional control element (drop-down list) to select by the user one of the languages known to him.
